ColourPop Shook to the Coral Blush Overview & Swatches

Shook the coral

Color Pop Shook for the Coral Pressed Powder Blush ($ 10.00 for 0.13 oz.) Is a lighter, light-medium orange with strong, warm undertones and flecks of gold that sparkle over a satin finish. It had medium buildable color coverage that was more in keeping with the way the formula is marketed than it normally is (compared to claims often “too” pigmented!)

The texture was soft, slightly powdery in the pan, but the product applied well to bare skin and easily diffused along the edges. The only problem I had was that the larger gold shimmers didn’t combine well with the powder, so they were visibly sitting on my skin and not evenly spreading … just a random splash of gold shimmer – nice in the pan but pretty worthless applied. It was a good eight and a half hours before something faded.

The formula is said to go on “smoothly” and have a “natural and healthy blush” that has “long wear” and “can be layered to the desired intensity”. It is a light to moderately powdery powder red with a semi-transparent to semi-opaque, buildable color scheme. The consistency feels drier and thinner, and while it feels silky, I’ve found that it can be difficult to evenly distribute the type of powder reddening on the skin, depending on your skin type or base preferences. The drier the skin / base, the better the formula would blend, but natural oils or slip caused an uneven blush and were difficult to fade out. The wear and tear averaged between seven and eight hours for me.
