Fantasy Harm Updates: Damien Harris, Noah Fant and Allen Lazard affect week 11 beginning sit choices

The NFL’s new IR rule has taken away some of the drama from Sunday morning (not that fantasy football owners are complaining). If more players stay / stay in IR (Drew Brees, Joe Mixon, Zach Ertz) or are “excluded” on the weekend (Kenny Golladay, Christian McCaffrey, D’Andre Swift, Sammy Watkins), there are only a handful of really “questionable” ones “Players – Damien Harris, Noah Fant, Allen Lazard – who will be causing a headache on Sunday morning at week 11. Even some players who we thought were game time decisions like Calvin Ridley, Davante Adams, Matt Breida, Sony Michel and Alvin Kamara weren’t included in their teams’ final injury reports so no updates are needed.

We’ll be here all Sunday to follow updates on Harris, Fant, and Lazard. So please check back for the latest information. Is Damien Harris playing this week?

Just like last week, Harris (ankles, chest) has been restricted in training all week and, just like last week, is expected to play despite a “questionable” day.

However, there is a new issue for Harris in Week 11 – the potential return of Sony Michel (Quad), which was activated outside of IR on Saturday. Just because Michel was activated outside of IR doesn’t mean he will be active for the week 11 game against Houston in New England (and even if he is active it doesn’t mean he will play), but when it does about Patriots RBs, anything is possible.

We expect Harris to dominate the broadcasts against Houston’s worst running defense and Rex Burkhead will likely act as number 2 back. Michel could take this seat, but until we see him in action, it’s not worth putting him in fantasy leagues. Have Harris on your roster this week as the Borderline RB1.

Is Noah Fant playing this week?

Fant (Rippen) alerted everyone by missing training on Wednesday, but after completing a limited session on Thursday and full training on Friday, he is expected to play against the dolphins on Sunday.

Despite disappointing numbers in recent games, Fant still sees a healthy number of goals (at least seven in three of the last four games). Miami allows TEs the sixth smallest fantasy points per game, so this is not an easy matchup, but Fant should be close to 100 percent and has as much advantage as any second tier TE. He’ll be there when you need him.

Is Allen Lazard playing this week?

Lazard (Kern) was officially activated by the IR on Tuesday and after doing limited drills all week, he has a good chance of holding his own against the Colts.

Of course, the Packers have been careful with their injured players all year long, and in a tough match against Indy’s senior defense, they could choose to keep Lazard on the sidelines. In either case, he’s not a recommended WR3 in fantasy leagues as his snapshots may be limited even when he’s active. His presence would detract from the value of Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who is not a recommended game even if Lazard is out.
