NASCAR at Dover Dwell Race Updates, Outcomes, Highlights from Drydene 311 on Saturday

Martin Truex Jr. was just as frustrated as many NASCAR drivers late this season when Denny Hamlin sped past him on Saturday in Dover on his way to a victory at Drydene 311.

After Truex had led a large part of the final stage, he couldn’t get Hamlin out of the way and decided on second place.

When Hamlin put his aggressive approach to his team, “I have to take it sometimes.”

Hamlin won the first and second stages before winning the race.

The penultimate competition in the regular season also featured a playoff bubble drama. Kurt Busch, who was safely in the competition, crashed in the first 10 laps and will now be under increased pressure. Jimmie Johnson, meanwhile, jumped to a post-season spot with a smooth seventh place.

NASCAR race start time today

The green flag for Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series race in Dover will be flying shortly after 4:00 p.m. ET, provided there are no rain delays, as has so often been the case since NASCAR returned to live racing in May.

Dover International Speedway has no lights so a weather delay could postpone or delay the double header race from Saturday to Sunday.

The good news regarding NASCAR’s chances of starting the Dover Races as planned is that both are relatively short – 311 laps around the 1 mile, fast concrete oval.
