Nordstrom anniversary sale 2020 | My Suggestions + What I Purchased (Up to date with Mini Opinions!)

Okay now that I’ve pulled links and put them all together Nordstrom Beauty Exclusives for the 2020 anniversary saleI can read the non-beauty and share what caught my eye … and pass on recommendations of products that I’ve tried (and loved) before. I would love to hear what you bought, what will tempt you (but you struggled) …

Products I’ve Bought + My Thoughts

I bought the sale when early access started on the 7th! Here’s what I received: 🙂 I will update more thoughts on what I will end up keeping / returning / loving as soon as I have the chance to receive and try (I think part of my order arrives on the 12th! ).

Barefoot dreams of cozy, chic socks for $ 19.90 – Dusty Mauve Set! I love this one (have other styles). They’re soft, cuddly, plush, and comfortable just like I knew they’d stay! Moron!

Caslon High Cuff Henley Top for $ 28.90 – Henleys are so comfy I bought them in Pink Bride, Black, and Burgundy Beet. They’re softer than I expected, not too thick or too thin (anyone who wants winter warmth in snowy areas will find them thin) and fits well without being too body-hugging or too loose. I kept all three colors that I bought.

Rounded Caslon T-shirt with V-neck for $ 12.90 – I really like these t-shirts but I only bought one as the other colors are similar to what I own and I recently bought some t-shirts through Target. I’m a fan of these (in general) so this was an obvious keeper.

Commando Butter Bralette for $ 41.90 – I bought one in dark gray. I love some of Commando’s other bralettes, although this one doesn’t look so supportive. The straps are too thin for me so I will return this one.

Flora Nikrooz jogger pajamas with floral print for $ 48.90 – I’ve always wanted to try this brand (their prints are so pretty) and this was the time to do it. It’s a slimmer fit than I would like for nightwear, so I recommend resizing for it (if you prefer a loose fit for the night). I’m giving mine back but it was a cute print and made of soft / comfortable material.

Halogen sweater with round neckline for $ 28.90 – I love a good long sleeve sweater, and I’m usually very lucky with halogen, so I bought it in Gray Dark Heather, Pink Compact, and Red Pomegranate. The fit was just right; not too long and was true to size. The neckline was crew neck without venturing too high (I’m not a turtleneck most of the time).

Halogen Easy Throw-On Cashmere Ruana for $ 98.90 – I bought one in Burgundy Stem, very curious to see how that fits. I looked so stupid in it! Immediately went to the “Return” pile.

Halogen long sleeve modal blend tee for $ 19.90 – I didn’t see these on the first preview of the sale so they ended up in a second order! These are super soft – I love, love, love modal. Received these and love them as expected.

Halogen tweed blazer for $ 79.90 – In Navy-Black Tweed. I hope it goes well! I always feel like I look like a carpet made of tweed.

Hourglass veil mineral primer + setting powder duo for $ 59 – Needed another setting powder and I’ve loved the veil primer for years so, duh! Stick with that as I’ve already tried the powder and knew I would use the duo.

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps for $ 49 – I bought one for my sister (for her birthday) and one for myself. This is something that I have bought back with the sale every year.

J. Crew Camo Print Sweater for $ 64.90 – ended up as part of a second order; It’s more expensive than I would have liked for a top, but it’s the first time Camo calls me … [waiting on this still]

Le Labo Basil Hand Soap Jumbo for $ 40 – I love Le Labos body fragrances! As with Mean Girls, “moderately priced soaps are my calling”. (Maybe not moderately.) I have a lot of other soaps on rotation right now so I haven’t tried it yet but will use it at some point (so it’s kept!).

Natori Bliss Perfection Soft Cup Bra for $ 37.90 – Hoping this is a perfect balance between light support and bralette comfort. It has more support than a typical bralette but feels more like a bralette than a traditional bra.

True & Co. True Body V-Neck Bralette for $ 29.90 – The wider straps make me hopeful that there is some support! I bought it in Black and True Mink. These were comfortable and a little more supportive than the commando bralettes I usually wear!

UGG Whistler Throw Blanket for $ 64.90 – I LOVE, LOVE my coastal ceilings so we can see if they are similar (they make great gifts); I bought them slate and charcoal paints. This litter is lighter and thinner than the coast, which has two different types of sides (one smoother, one fluffier). I can see that the Whistler is good for snuggling up and using as an armrest when you sleep as it takes up less space in bed compared to the coast. It’s a very soft, cozy blanket that doesn’t feel cheap thin, just less plush – but someone who wants a lightweight blanket should be fine with it. I will keep both that I bought. Apparently this is one of the hottest items on sale!

In the end, I skipped these items (or at least held them back for now) …

Eliza J was my go-to for well-fitting dresses in fun styles that are not too expensive and have held their own over the yearsGiraffe at home robes for $ 154.90 ($ 218- $ 234 after sale) – incredibly soft, plush, and a heavier garment for those who like to be pamperedHalogen cashmere sweater with round neck for $ 57.90 ($ 98 after sale) – I got mine years ago, although I detest dry cleaning so don’t wear them often these daysHalogen tunic T-shirts with V-neck for $ 15.90 ($ 29 after-sale) – if you like a longer, more fluid t-shirt that still has some shape, these are lovely!Nordstrom Moonlight Short Pajamas for $ 29.90 ($ 49 after sale) – LOVE these pajamas! They are so soft, light and sleep cool. I gave these to my mother and sister who love them too. How my mom, who would normally never shop at Nordstrom (too expensive for her), actually asked for more sets for her birthday.Nordstrom Moonlight Pajamas for $ 42.90 ($ 65 after sale) – these are the long sleeve and pants versions of the above so highly recommended. I have a lot of every style, LOL!Rail Hunter Plaid Shirts for $ 99.99 ($ 158 after sale) – Really loved the one I bought but couldn’t justify the price for someone who barely leaves home under normal circumstances!Wit & Wisdom Jeans (Price varies) – I always pick up a pair or two when they’re on sale! They’re stretchy, sized pretty evenly from style to style, and hold up pretty well.

Home & men

Giraffe at Home Luxe Throw for $ 129.90 ($ 196 after sale) – pretty much the most decadent cozy purchase I’ve ever made, but it’s plush !! Just listen to the DRY FLAT part of the day.Nordstrom Hydrocotton towels (Price varies depending on size) – We recently switched most of our towels to Nordstrom because they are plush, thick, but absorbent. It doesn’t take forever and a day to dry, and more importantly, they hold up after many washes! (Although I kind of want to try the UGG Basel towels, haha.)Saxx Ultra boxer shorts for $ 20.90 ($ 32 after sale) – my husband loves these and replaced everything he had with various patterns in this style
