Pat McGrath Love Curiosity & Belle Amour Divinyl Lip Shines Evaluations & Swatches

Pat McGrath love interest Divinyl Lip Shine ($ 36.00 for 0.08 oz.) Is a rich, deep pink with moderate, warm undertones and a bright sheen. It had a smooth, bland consistency that had more glide than glide – it looked a lot shinier than it felt, so even though it never pulled, it didn’t feel like it instantly melted and worked smoothly.

Color coverage was good, if not complete, and continued evenly. The color wore well for four and a half hours and felt moisturizing when worn.

Formula overview

$ 36.00 / 0.08 oz. – – $ 450.00 per ounce

The formula is said to provide a “mirror-like” gloss with a “rich color” that contains a lot of “moisture”. It’s part of the brand’s Lip Fetish range, which is a lip balm-based formula. However, this appears to be the higher coverage offering within the various surfaces available. They feel smooth and balm-like – easy gliding but not overly slippery, light and comfortable to use and wear.

The texture felt smooth and warmed on my lips which gave it a little more slip, but the formula looked glossier than it actually felt in terms of slip, so it wasn’t a high maintenance formula – I didn’t have it no personal feathers / bleeding.

The weakness lies in the wearing time, which is three to four hours for most colors, and they do not have strong dyeing capabilities (at least not based on the range of colors present). Otherwise, they offered a semi-opaque to opaque coverage that was applied evenly and smoothly, but it wasn’t the most forgiving of imperfection. I always exfoliate my lips before doing lip patterns, but there were still a few shades that were more noticeably attached to imperfections, although not all shades did.

The formula felt moderately moisturizing, although I don’t find them to be top of the line moisturizing lip balm formulations. They have a slight, sweet vanilla scent, but no discernible taste.

Pat McGrath Belle Amour Divinyl Lip Gloss ($ 36.00 for 0.08 oz.) Is a deep pink with subtle, warm undertones and a glossy, off-white finish. It had an almost opaque color coverage in a single stroke that slid comfortably over my lips without pulling or feeling overly slippery.

The consistency was light with a firmer, balm-like texture so it felt smooth and was slightly softened by the warmth of my lips during application, but it looked shinier than it felt. The paint was applied evenly and didn’t emphasize the texture of the lips. It lasted a good four and a half hours and felt moisturizing over time.
